Apex Home Care welcomes applications from Certified Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aides. Apex Home Care will provide a paid training program for people who would like to enter this field. Also, the state provides a free training program called Personal and Home Care Aide State Training (PHCAST) Program – Homemaker Online Training: https://mahomecaretraining.org

The Executive Office of Elder Affairs offers a free, online course to prepare individuals to work as a homemaker to assist individuals to live safely in their homes. It should take learners about 60 hours to complete this course and they can work on the course at their own pace on a laptop, tablet and/or smart phone. Upon successful completion of the assessments, learners receive a Certificate of Completion. This course is available to anyone interested in learning more about becoming a Homemaker/Personal Care Attendant (PCA), those seeking employment as a homemaker/PCA or individuals looking to refresh their homemaker skills. Prospective employees of Apex Home Care must:

Must have two Covid Vaccinations
Successfully pass a written skills assessment, and successfully demonstrate basic care giving skills (safe transfer technique, safe lifting technique, etc.)

All Apex caregivers are:

Bonded and covered by liability insurance, unemployment insurance and worker’s compensation.
Registered nurses oversee training, certification renewals and on-going supervision.
